![]() Congrats to the Ms internet explorer team, according to a post last friday they passed then next hurdle to become closer to standards compliancy. To become standards compliant the browser must be able to pass the Acid2 test, and render an image of a retro acid man. In order to make this posible the development team had to make some major tweaks to the rendering engine of IE.
Firefox 3 beta 2 hit the streets a few days back and was the first Mozilla browser to pass, where as Opera, Konqueror and Safari has done for quite sometime now. Im wondering if it was down to Operas threat to take Microsoft to the EU acording to to this blog posting on web standards website.
So thanks again Microsoft for putting in the effort, it isnt going to make me a fanboy though. Im going to be running test on all the major browsers with an article to follow, check it out in the following days to see if your choice is compliant. Until then have a look at Fsckin where the history of all Mozilla browser standards compliancy is put to the test. Comments
